Are you traveling to Randa by train? We will gladly pick you up at the train station. To do so, please let us know your exact arrival time or send us a text message or WhatsApp to 0041796790554 when you board the train in Visp. It is only a 5 minute walk from the train station to Haus Bergdohle (https://goo.gl/L4C4DV).

If you arrive by car, you will find Haus Bergdohle in Randa as follows:

• Drive up the village to the church
• Turn at the church and drive about 50 meters back down the village.
• Turn into the first small street on the right (downhill) to the house Bergdohle.
• If we are not at home, the front door will be open and your name will be on the door of the apartment you have booked. Enter and enjoy your vacation - we will come by during your stay. Please let us know if you arrive after 9 pm.

Please note that check-in is available from 15:00 until 22:00. If you arrive earlier, you are welcome to store your luggage with us and explore the surroundings.

All the cooking utensils for a traditional cheese fondue are in your apartment. If you need help with the preparation, you are welcome to contact us.

All apartments are equipped with a filter coffee machine as well as a Delizio capsule machine.
Capsules for the Delizio machine can be purchased at Migros or directly from the landlord.

We attach great importance to the satisfaction of our guests and want to ensure that you enjoy your stay to the fullest. However, if you have any wishes, concerns or feedback, we are at your disposal.

Organic kitchen waste can also be disposed of separately seasonally. Ask the landlord where the compost is located.

There are three defibrillators in the village of Randa, which can be found at the following locations:

1. At the crypt (below the church entrance). This is the closest one to the house Bergdohle
2. at the fire station
3. at the Wildik chapel

In case of emergency, these life-saving devices can be accessed at any time.

In an emergency, contact the 114 number or the landlord.

Please note that check-out should be no later than 10:00 on the day of departure. We kindly ask you to inform us of the check-out time one day before departure.

Further, in case of possible snowfall and early departure, we ask you to park your car in the public parking lot next to the church or bring it to the parking garage. It is possible that in case of heavy snowfalls the snow removal in front of the house or in the village is not yet completely finished.

Should you wish a later check-out, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will try to accommodate you depending on availability.

Waste disposal in Randa is paid for via chargeable waste sacks. We have provided you with the first waste bag in the kitchen. Further bags can be bought in shops or from the landlord. Please leave the waste bag in the flat when you leave, we will take care of the disposal.

For the disposal of glass, PET (NO plastic bottles or plastic packaging), aluminum cans, paper and cardboard, a brown box with appropriate containers is available outside at the front of the building.

No shopping facilities in Randa:
Currently, there are no shopping facilities in Randa. You can conveniently do your shopping in Täsch, Zermatt, or already on your way in Visp – the nearest large supermarket is located in Visp, about a 30-minute drive away.

We are happy to take care of the most essential grocery shopping and place the items in your apartment before your arrival. Simply send us your shopping list by email in advance.

Snacks & small items in the house:
On the first floor in the stairwell, you’ll find a small selection of snacks and groceries for a quick bite. Feel free to help yourself – just note down what you take and pay for it at the end of your stay. We trust in the honesty of our guests.

During your stay:
If you need additional groceries while you are here and cannot drive to Täsch yourself, feel free to contact us. We go to Täsch regularly and will gladly assist you.

From the apartment to the train station is only 5 minutes walk. Just follow the way on the following map. Trains run every half hour and the departure table can be found at the departure table . However, depending on discounts and other factors, it may be cheaper to take a taxi. Just discuss your plans with the landlord or at the tourist office to determine the best option for you.

What is more beautiful than a warming fireplace on cold winter days. We will gladly provide you with a basket of firewood for CHF 5.

Fireplace lighting

Please be careful and make sure that the sliders are open and the smoke can escape. When lighting the fireplace, you should turn off the extractor fan in the kitchen to prevent smoke development in the apartment.

On the top floor you will find a minibar and on the second floor a selection of snacks and utensils such as toothbrushes and earplugs, etc..

Would you like to enjoy a cozy raclette evening with Valais cheese during your vacations? A raclette oven is located in your apartment. If you need help with the preparation, please feel free to contact us.

Various radio programs are available via the TV program. You can listen to the local "Radio Rottu Oberallis" online at https://pomona.ch/rro

We would like to point out that smoking is strictly prohibited in our vacation apartments. Smoking on the balconies and in the outdoor area is of course allowed.
Ashtrays are available on the balconies so that you can dispose of cigarette butts accordingly.

Please note that we may charge an additional cleaning fee of CHF 500.- if you do not comply with the smoking ban.

We ask for your understanding and cooperation to keep the apartments comfortable for all guests.

A brown box with appropriate containers is available outside at the side of the building. Paper and cardboard, glass, aluminum, plastic bottles and PET bottles can be disposed of there. Unfortunately, there are no recycling options for other plastic packaging and tetrapacks. Please dispose of these in waste bags.

A collection point for disposal of PET, glass and ALU is located at the northern entrance to the village.

Currently, there are no restaurants in the village of Randa that serve meals regularly. Upon request, we can arrange a transfer to nearby restaurants – just talk to us on site.

Alternatively, you can easily order from Da Vinci in Täsch. For a small delivery fee, they deliver directly to Randa during opening hours, so you can enjoy your meal comfortably in your apartment.

Please deposit your ski & snowboard equipment in the designated area in the basement.

A dryer for up to 10 pairs of shoes is available free of charge in the basement. If the house is fully booked, we would ask you to make sure that all guests can dry their equipment. This usually takes less than two hours - please remove your equipment after this time so that all guests have the opportunity to use the dryer.

Above the Bisgletscher, in high winter (especially with large amounts of snow), smaller glacier avalanches can trigger so-called "snow dust avalanches". Should you observe such an avalanche, immediately go to your apartment or the nearest house. Depending on the snow volumes, it is possible that the pressure waves may reach the village. However, there is no need to worry as you are absolutely safe inside. However, it is important to note that it would be wrong to film, photograph and observe this natural phenomenon outside. The fine snow dust that can reach the village during such an event is dangerous for respiratory functions.

There is an Android TV available in the flat, through which you can access over 300 channels with the Teleboy app .
Please note that no additional channels are available and we ask you not to make any adjustments to the settings. If you have any problems, please feel free to contact us.

If you need a power adapter for your electronic devices, you are welcome to borrow one from us.

The nearest gas station is in the neighboring village of Täsch.

Take a taxi to the village entrance of Zermatt, to the Täschalpe or even to other sights and places by taxi. Most taxis in Täsch can accommodate up to 10+ people.

For information and pricing, contact the respective taxi company. Negotiate a deal for the round trip to Zermatt. Especially if you are more than one person or want to use the taxi on more than one day.

Our recommendation is Taxi Rocky. You can reach Taxi Rocky at +41 27 967 40 30. Inform the driver to pick you up at the house Bergdohle (below the church of Randa).

Our apartments are equipped with modern smoke and carbon monoxide detectors networked with the devices in the other apartments. This ensures a quick alarm in case of fire or carbon monoxide poisoning.

False alarms rarely occur, unless someone is cooking with a lot of smoke or is having trouble lighting the fireplace. If an alarm sounds, go immediately to the stairwell and make sure that no dangerous event has occurred in the building. Otherwise, leave the building immediately until you are sure what has happened.

If smoke is detected in your apartment and it is not a dangerous event, you have a brief opportunity to stop the alarm from sounding throughout the house. To do this, you need to quickly press the white round button on the smoke detector.

We would like to add that there are several fire extinguishers available in the staircase, which can be used in case of a small event. However, we ask our guests never to put themselves in danger in case of fire or smoke development. If necessary, please leave the building immediately and contact the fire department on 118 and the landlord immediately.

In the event of an alarm, remain calm and follow instructions. The safety of our guests is our top priority.

If you need fresh bed linen or towels, just let us know and we will be happy to provide you with fresh linen. However, for environmental reasons, we ask that you only request a linen change when it is really necessary. In this way, together we can help conserve resources and minimize our ecological footprint. Thank you for your support!

We are happy to offer you the possibility to wash and dry your own laundry by arrangement. For this purpose, a washing machine and a tumble dryer are available in our house. The use of both devices costs CHF 5 per use. Please contact us so that we can explain how to access the washing machine and dryer and provide you with the necessary utensils if required.
